  • Art From the Start

    Seated (Grades 6-8)

    A.M.:  7:30 - 11 a.m.

    Take a look at how art is used to create 2-D drawing projects from start to finish.  Projects include logo design, landscapes, illustration and more.

     



  • Create with Clay

    Seated (Grades 6-8)

    A.M.:  7:30 - 11 a.m.

    Develop your three-dimensional design skill while exploring with clay. Projects include hand-built pottery, clay sculptures, Air Dry clay collaborative communities, Model Magic creatures, and even trying to throw a pot on the wheel.

     

     


  • Creative Writing

    Seated (Grades 6-8)

    P.M.:  11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    Explore five flexible units of writing, including children's stories, drama, memoirs, short stories, and poetry. Learn to create a writer's portfolio to present at the showcase and utilize creativity as you imagine the world of writing.

     


  • Doodle Art and Henna

    Seated (Grades 6-8)

    A.M.:  7:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.  

    P.M.:  11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    Learn to doodle using a variety of mediums and styles. The last 2 weeks we will use the skills we learned to create henna designs using live henna.

     

     


  • Just Dance!

    Seated (Grades 6-8)

    A.M.:  7:30 - 11 a.m.

    P.M.:  11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    Explore a variety of dance disciplines and movement styles, engage with area experts, enjoy demonstration performances, create your own TikTok-inspired dance videos, and present an informal dance concert with new-found friends and collaborators.  This class aspires to provide exposure to multiple dance styles, an opportunity to learn from community arts professionals, an appreciation for the art and evolution of dance, and an outlet for personal expression.

  • Make Writing Studio

    Seated (Grades 6-8)

    A.M.:  7:30 - 11 a.m.

    Build! Create! Explore! Write! Make Writing Studio is an opportunity to combine your creative writing skills with the hands-on creativity of maker space.  Illustrate your imagination using materials and tools that bring your writing to life.  Share what you make.  Share what you learn.

     


  • One Act Plays

    Seated (Grades 6-8)

    A.M.:  7:30 - 11 a.m.

    Students will learn to perform a grade level appropriate one-act play.

     


  • Painting Made Fun

    Seated (Grades 6-8)

    P.M.:  11:30 - 3 p.m.

    Develop your painting and drawing skills while experimenting with new tools and techniques. Projects include tempera toy still life's, watercolor story illustrations, acrylic landscapes, paint outside like Monet and Renoir, and more. Plus, create your own contemporary abstract painting on a canvas for your bedroom.


  • Pottery Throw Down

    Seated (Grades 6-8)

    A.M.:  7:30 - 11 a.m.  

    P.M.:  11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    Get your hands dirty exploring the materials and processes of ceramics using multiple hand building and wheel throwing techniques. Projects will include masks, platters, coil vessels, planters, and a tea set.

     


  • Puppetry Theatre

    Seated (Grades 6-8)

    P.M.:  11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.  

    Students will learn the history of Puppetry Theatre, explore how various puppets work and move, create shadow puppets and sock puppets and sock puppets, and collaborate as an ensemble to create a puppetry performance.


  • Switching Styles

    Seated (Grades 6-8)

    P.M.:  11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    Take an in-depth look at different types of artists and the styles that made them stand out. Create your own artwork inspired by past and present visual artists.
