-
On September 13, Study Alternative Center teachers Anna Phillips and Beth Nickle received a $54,490 grant from the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools to create a Living Schoolyard Learning Experience. Their project aims to transform the school campus into a series of interconnected outdoor classrooms, accessible via a walking trail, promoting inclusivity. The grant, supported by The Hatch Foundation, will allow students to actively participate in the development and upkeep of these spaces, empowering them with a sense of ownership and life-long skills. This project is part of over 80 grants totaling $235,000 awarded to SPS educators this year.
