  • Chocolate UniversityGirl Scout   

    Partnership with Askinosie Chocolate

    Students will be inspired by artisan chocolate making to become global citizens and embrace the idea that businesses can solve world problems. The course exposes students to real world experiences and project-based learning as they experience the inner workings of a small batch chocolate factory.

  • Diagnosis Detectives Experience

    Partnership with Mercy Hospital

    Do you ever wonder what happens inside a hospital? Come explore bacteria, genetics and the systems within the human body. This program will take place at the Health Sciences Academy at Mercy Hospital. Students will be shuttled from Carver and Pershing middle schools.

    Do you have what it takes to outsmart your classmates?  Learn how to escape rooms, solve word games, learn from guest speakers, design and implement breakout games, and reflect on worst case scenarios.

    Would you like to design your own video game? Students in this class will learn how by writing code using object-based programming as well as basic scripting to develop, play and publish their own video game.

  • Mysteries at the Museum Boy Scout Girl scout

    Research and discover all that is required in creating a new art museum.  Work as a team to create a new museum, design and construct a virtual and 3-D gallery, and create a logo and business card.

  • Orchestra Camp 

    Calling all string students – violin, viola, cello, and double bass! Do you want to continue to improve on your instrument this summer? If so, sign up for “Orchestra Camp.” We will rehearse in both small ensembles and large and present a performance for friends and family at the end of the camp.

    Do you love the outdoors? Learn about different ways you can experience and enjoy nature and acquire the skills you need to thrive in the great outdoors as you experience archery, fly-fishing, hiking, survival skills, and more. Students will visit various outdoor recreation areas each week. Bring your hiking boots!

    Partnership with high school drama departments

    It’s time for you to take center stage! Create a real production, perform on an actual stage and share your final product with a live audience. This course will include experiences in a high school theater.

  • Theme Park Takeover

    Roller coasters are thrill rides that seem to defy the laws of mathematics and physics. In this course, students will get to practice being an engineer by designing, constructing and testing their own roller coaster.

    Do you want to know what it takes to be a Middle School Olympian? In this class you will learn about various Olympic training techniques and Olympic events. SNAG golf, volleyball, bowling and track and field competitive events will all be included.
