Elementary

  • Engage activities are geared towards K-8th grade students and prepare them for WBL experiences. These activities are designed to increase student awareness of personal interests and talents along with the education and training needed to pursue a career goal. Through career awareness activities, students gain an initial understanding of work, various industries and different career pathways. These experiences include: Extended Student Experiences, Career Fair/Day, Guest Speakers and Workplace Tours.

  • Camp Wakonda

    Students from 16 elementary sites across the district visit Camp Wakonda twice to participate in co-curricular, hands-on learning that aligns with 4th grade social studies and sciences standards.

  • History Museum

    Students from 16 elementary schools across the district, in conjunction with the History Museum on the Square engage in the Meet Missouri educational program during the fall and spring which focuses on Springfield and Greene County’s famous Missourians. This program aligns with 3rd grade social studies standards.
