Virtual Course Enrollment

  • Launch

SPS students who wish to take virtual courses for the 2022-2023 school year through Launch may contact Dr. Nichole Lemmon (nlemmon@spsmail.org) for assistance. Enrollment remains open for all students grades K-12.

Missouri Course Access and Virtual School Program (MOCAP) was established in 2007 as the state’s online school. It was previously known as Missouri Virtual Instruction Program (MOVIP).  Students can take courses from any Internet-connected computer, available 24-hours a day, seven days a week. MOCAP's mission is to offer Missouri students equal access to a wide range of high quality courses, and interactive online learning that is neither time nor place dependent.

Local school districts and charter schools may use their own preferred online provider.  The Springfield Public School District’s preferred provider is Launch.  Launch is operated and overseen by Springfield Public Schools. Launch currently offers over 250 courses with full-time and per-course programming available for students in grades K-12Current course offerings through Launch can be found at: https://fueledbylaunch.com/courses/ . Launch Courses are designed by Missouri teachers and aligned to the state standards.  A formal review process is built into all course development to ensure high quality and rigor.  Students wishing to take advantage of online learning opportunities will do so through Launch and may enroll at their home building or through the Launch office. To schedule an appointment, or for more information, please contact 417-523-0417.

If a student wishes to pursue a full-time virtual offering through other MOCAP options outside of Launch, he/she will need to submit a records request to the Virtual Learning Office, Dr. Nichole Lemmon, Director of Virtual Learning (nlemmon@spsmail.org).

Students with IEPs must be approved for virtual learning opportunities through the IEP process prior to enrollment in Launch or another MOCAP provider.

More information regarding virtual course practices and procedures can be found in the SPS Virtual Learning Handbook.
