What after school snacks are available from Student Nutrition?
Posted by:At this time, SPS Student Nutrition is able to offer 3 types of after-school meals, depending on the meal eligibility of the school where they are needed.
- Through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) through the Missouri Department of Health and Human Services (DHSS), Student Nutrition can offer a 5-component dinner, which we call a "Super Snack". This is made up of more snack-type items, but still meets the requirements of a full dinner meal. This meal is available to any school at or above 50% Free & Reduced rate.
- Through the same program, Student Nutrition can also offer a hot, 5-component dinner in some situations as well. Hot meals are currently offered at our Boys & Girls Club locations.
- Through Voyagers, schools with lower than 50% Free & Reduced may qualify for a partially cost-covered 2-component snack, with pre-approval from the Voyagers office. The cost of these snacks will be billed to the Voyagers Office.
