Reading is essential to student success.

A Message from Dr. Grenita Lathan

  • Dr. Lathan photoDeveloping strong reading skills is the key to helping students become success ready. The ability to read and comprehend information creates a strong foundation for building academic knowledge and skills as they progress in their education. This year, we are challenging students, parents and community members to focus on improving literacy to help increase student achievement.

The goal of our 2024-2025 Read to Succeed challenge is to increase English Language Arts scores on the MAP test by 2 percent.

Join the campaign and the conversation. Post how you're taking part in the 2024-2025 literacy campaign Read to Succeed by using #SPSreadtosucceed on social media, and tag me @DrGrenitaLathan! I'll be sharing the selfies I see and celebrating reading everywhere. Let's open a book and get started.
