Support for SPS Families

  • We understand that many families are facing challenges due to the temporary suspension of SNAP benefits in November 2025. Springfield Public Schools is working closely with community partners to make sure our students and families continue to have access to essential food and household resources.

If your family could use some extra support, the following resources are available:

    1. Crosslines Community Outreach Resource Center – Offers emergency food assistance and household support for families in need. Learn more about the Crosslines Food Pantry hours and eligibility requirements here.

    2. Ozarks Food Harvest – Families may use the Food Pantry & Program Directory to find a nearby pantry or distribution site.

    3. United Way of the Ozarks Region 2-1-1 – A free, confidential helpline available 24/7 to connect families to food, housing and utility assistance. Families can dial 2-1-1 or visit 211helps.org.

    4. School Food Pantries – Many SPS schools have Care to Learn food pantries that are fully stocked and ready to help families in need. Contact your school's nurse, counselor or front office for more information.

    5. Community Partnership of the Ozarks has created an up-to-date list of food pantries, meal sites and other critical services linked here

If your family needs additional support, please reach out to your school nurse, counselor, school-community liaison, social worker, or administrator. They can help connect you to available resources.

We know this is a difficult time for many, and SPS is here to help however we can. Please don’t hesitate to reach out — you are not alone.

Apply for Free/Reduced Meals

  • If you have not already applied for free/reduced meals for the 2025-2026 school year, or if your family's financial status has changed recently, you can apply to determine whether your child is eligible to receive free or reduced price meals during the school day.
