• What does a school nurse do? The school nurse strengthens and facilitates the educational process by identifying, modifying or re-mediating health-related barriers to learning. This includes appropriate assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation management and/or referral activities; serves as direct link between physicians, families and community agencies to assure access and continuity of health care of students; and provides relevant instruction, counseling, and guidance to students, parents, staff and others concerning health related issues.  Click on the box labeled "What Does a School Nurse Do?" to view the video.
