Cherokee Chapter President Julianna Sutton says, “I am so proud of everyone that competed from Cherokee. We all worked extremely hard, and many great things came out of this year’s STAR events projects. Students, including myself, learned about setting goals, time management, accountability, communication, and leadership and so much more through our work. FCCLA competitors engaged with elementary students by teaching lessons about budgeting, recycling, etiquette and manners, and the importance of developing strong literacy skills. One FCCLA student worked with community members to build a food pantry for a school in our district. Another set of students worked to collect over 200 books to stock neighborhood libraries and promote reading. I am looking forward to seeing what we can do in the future to continue to make a positive impact on our community. We can't wait to show off our hard work at the state competition this year!
