SPS employee giving campaign raises $47,627 for United Way and Foundation for SPS
Dec. 4, 2024
Each year, Springfield Public Schools raises funds and awareness for the United Way of the Ozarks and Foundation For Springfield Public Schools during the district’s Pay It Forward employee giving campaign. This year, Team SPS collectively raised more than $47,627 to support both organizations.
"Across our community, United Way is leading employee campaigns, which directly support our two priorities: championing children and pathways out of poverty," said Brandi VanAntwerp, President/CEO of United Way of the Ozarks. "Both of these priorities speak to an educator's heart, and we are so grateful to SPS employees for helping to make a positive change in our local community. Their dollars have a strategic, local and positive impact when they're given to the United Way."
Every dollar pledged will help meet the basic needs of local students and families, provide grants to SPS teachers, and offer special programs and activities that enrich our community.
“This campaign demonstrates the commitment our district employees have for the children they serve," said Natalie Murdock, executive director of the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools. "Our educators, support staff, paraprofessionals, bus drivers and leaders work hard to ensure students receive the best of the best every day. Their willingness to give personal resources to further assist students speaks to their love and passion for education. We’re honored to be stewards of their dollars to invest them right back into the classrooms they support."
