Educators engage in arts learning experience with Arts Integration Conference
July 22, 2024
More than 50 educators learned how to better integrate the arts in their classrooms at the Springfield Arts Integration Conference.
Hosted at Kickapoo High School, the two-day learning experience was held in partnership with SPS and the Springfield Regional Arts Council. The conference has been held annually as an experiential professional learning opportunity since 2018, said Jessica Wagner, coordinator of fine arts.
"The purpose of the conference is to grow teachers understanding of art integration in hopes they will bring it back into their classroom to benefit student learning and engagement," said Wagner. "Through the partnership with the Springfield Regional Arts Council, we’re able to schedule nationally known Focus 5 presenters to lead the learning. Focus 5 is the leading organization for Arts Integration and partners with the Kennedy Center regularly."
