SPS students named top 10 finalists at DECA International contest

Students from Central, Glendale, Kickapoo, and Parkview participated in the DECA International Career Development Conference and Competitions in Anaheim, California during the week of April 27-20, 2024. The mission of DECA, a state and nationally recognized CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
Central High School
9 students competed for Central at ICDC:

Eli Kromrey was a finalist and placed 8th overall in Automotive Services Marketing. He will be attending the Excellence in Marketing Reception at the Governor’s Mansion in Jefferson City on May 15, 2024.

Glendale High School
11 Glendale students grades 10-12 competed for Glendale High School at ICDC:

Abigail Samek was a finalist, Top 20, in Project Management Career Development. This event included a 20-page written report and 15 minute presentation. She will be attending the Excellence in Marketing Reception at the Governor’s Mansion in Jefferson City on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
Kickapoo High School
9 students, grades 10-12 competed at ICDC this year for Kickapoo High School:

Alexia Bataller San Estanislao won first place in Integrated Marketing Campaign - Event! This event included a 100-question exam, a 10-page written report, and 15-minute presentation for the Chanel brand. She also placed Top 10 in her exam score.
Noah was a finalist and placed 9th overall in Retail Merchandising Individual Series role play.
Both will be attending the Excellence in Marketing Reception at the Governor’s Mansion in Jefferson City on May 15, 2024.
In addition, Zorian Black was honored with a scholarship to Johnson and Whales University, where he will attend in the fall.
