On Nov. 7, educators across the system participated in Teach Forward, a day of high impact professional learning.
High-quality professional development for teachers provides support for success-ready students.
"It's essential that our teachers have high-quality professional learning," said Jenny Talburt, director of elementary curriculum. "When our teachers receive relevant learning, then that directly impacts the success of our students. That's fundamentally what we're here to do."
Learning Outcomes from Teach Forward:
- Obtain clarity of SPS essential standards
- Consider best practices in grading and determining student proficiency
- Calibrate grading of district common assessments
- Explore the role of scales in supporting student agency
