Eligible students must opt in or out of transportation for the 2023-2024 school year

Beginning Monday, May 8, transportation eligible families will need to opt in or opt out of transportation for the 2023-2024 school year..
 
You will need your Home Access Center (HAC) login and password to complete the process. If you do not have your HAC login and password, you must contact your child's school to obtain it.

Dear SPS families:
 
Beginning Monday, May 8, transportation eligible families will need to opt in or opt out of transportation for the 2023-2024 school year by clicking on the link below.
 
You will need your Home Access Center (HAC) login and password to complete the process. If you do not have your HAC login and password, you must contact your child's school to obtain it. Learn more about HAC here.
 
For eligible students to receive transportation on the first day of school, you must opt in by June 15. For those not wanting transportation for the 2023-2024 school year, opting out with the link below allows us to plan bus routes accordingly.
 
Please review the following information as you make your decision about transportation for the 2023-2024 school year.
 
Start and Dismissal Times
The three-tier structure will be as follows:
  • Tier 1: 7:20 a.m.-2:20 p.m.
  • Tier 2: 8:10 a.m.-3:10 p.m.
  • Tier 3: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Schools Assigned to Tiers
  • Tier 1: 21 elementary schools, two K-8 schools, one intermediate school, and one choice program
  • Tier 2: five high schools, nine elementary schools, three choice programs, one alternative program, and four early childhood programs
  • Tier 3: five middle schools, one alternative program, one choice program and two K-8 schools
Tier assignments are subject to change.
 
Eligibility Guidelines
Students who attend elementary, intermediate and K-8 schools must live 1.5 miles or more from school to be eligible for transportation. Middle school and high school students must live 2.5 miles or more from school to be eligible.
 
SPS also provides free transportation for elementary students who live less than 1.5 miles from school and to middle school students who live less than 2.5 miles from school in areas where they must cross a barrier street. Click here to learn what qualifies as a barrier street.
