Help SPS develop its new Strategic Plan

Springfield Public Schools (SPS) will revise its Strategic Plan to provide direction for the district over the next three to five years. A draft of the new plan will be presented to the Board of Education for consideration in December and stakeholder feedback is key.

Consultants from EGL Association arrived in Springfield Wednesday to begin the work of gathering feedback and identifying themes for inclusion in the revised plan. EGL Association specializes in strategic planning for K-12 public education and aligns all work with requirements outlined by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

All SPS stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on revisions to the Strategic Plan. The following opportunities are available:

  • This survey is open for all stakeholders through September 26.

  • EGL consultants will visit all SPS schools and district offices, Sept. 14-23, to provide an opportunity for staff to engage in-person. 

  • Virtual opportunities for staff are also available on Sept. 14, 15 & 22 from 6 to 7 p.m. by Zoom. Staff may register for virtual options at communications@spsmail.org

  • Focus groups for principals will be held Sept. 19, 20, 21 & 22 by feeder pattern.

  • Focus groups for parents will be held Sept. 14, 15 & 22 from 6 to 7 p.m., in-person at Kraft Administrative Center (1359 E. St. Louis St.) or virtually by Zoom. Register here.

  • Focus groups for community stakeholders will be held Sept. 14, 15 & 22 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Kraft Administrative Center (1359 E. St. Louis St. ) and representatives from more than 250 entities have been invited. For other community members interested in participating, register here.
