GHS student filmmakers win Missouri Association of School Libraries Book Trailer contest

Beginner filmmakers at Glendale High School won statewide accolades this summer. 

Students from two Broadcast Journalism I classes during the 2020-2021 school year collaborated with Glendale librarians Nicole Bueno and Samantha Donnalley for students to create book trailers for the Missouri Gateway book nominees.

Glendale High School won 4 of the 13 Missouri Association of School Libraries awards.

"Broadcast Journalism I students collaborated with our librarians to learn about plot and plot structure, created video effects in their digital storytelling, chose music to match the mood of their edit and created text overlays to move the story forward," said Cara Baxley, Broadcast Journalism adviser at Glendale High School. "This project involved collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking. We're so proud that so much of our students' work."
