Three principals recognized as outstanding leaders
The Springfield region of the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals has selected three SPS principals as representatives for the 2020-2021 MAESP Distinguished Principals Program. The program chooses principals who demonstrate leadership that ensures Missouri's children acquire a sound foundation for lifelong learning and achievement.
Mrs. Cindy Webster is principal at Weaver Elementary School and has been selected as Distinguished Principal. She leads her staff with high expectations and promotes collaboration while consistently seeking to improve best practices. Mrs. Webster brings a high level of focus and passion to her building and to the SPS leadership team. Her presence at Weaver has led to great academic growth, as well as growth in the school culture and climate. She shows empathy and patience always. Mrs. Webster approaches her work with a positive intent and presumption and her calming presence makes others feel comfortable to ask questions and share ideas.
Mrs. Jessica Wagner is principal at Sequiota Elementary School and has been selected as Exemplary New Principal. She is determined and focused with doing what is best for the students. She works hard to create high expectations for herself and her staff and she is a positive and authentic leader. Mrs. Wagner treats people with respect and is always supportive of her colleagues.
Mrs. Katy Knapp is assistant principal at Delaware Elementary School and has been selected as Outstanding Assistant Principal. She demonstrates strong leadership, professionalism and relationship building skills. Every day she strives for greatness in everything she does. She is warm, welcoming, and supportive to her colleagues and always looks for ways to support them.
The principals will be recognized during MAESP’s annual Leadership Conference in March.
