SPS announces new director of learning development
Springfield Public Schools is pleased to announce that Dr. Martha Doennig has been named the district’s new director of learning development, effective July 1. Dr. Doennig will follow Dr. Nicole Holt, recently named the next deputy superintendent of academics for SPS.
In her new role, Dr. Doennig will lead professional learning for certificated teachers, grades preK-12, with a focus on inspiring growth and increasing teacher capacity to meet the diverse needs of students. Martha is the current coordinator of learning development and has served as an SPS educator since 2003. She began her SPS service as a teacher at Fairbanks and Wilson’s Creek. Her prior experience includes service with Lawrence Public Schools in Kansas and the Center School District in Missouri.
Dr. Doennig completed her undergraduate work in elementary education from the University of Missouri, her graduate work in educational administration from Missouri State University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Southwest Baptist University.
