Two seats on the Board of Education up for election

Beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019,  individuals interested in serving on the Springfield Public Schools Board of Education can pick up nomination information/petition packets.  Packets will be available in the executive offices at Kraft Administrative Center, 1359 E. St. Louis.

Completed declarations for nominations/petitions for nomination must be returned between 8 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.

Two board seats, currently filled by Tim Rosenbury and Dr. Denise Fredrick, will be up for election on the April 7, 2020 ballot.  In order to qualify to be placed on the ballot for the election a candidate “shall be a voter of the district who has resided within this state for one year next preceding his election or appointment and who is at least twenty-four years of age.” Section 162.471, RSMo.  Candidates must submit petitions to the secretary of the Board by the deadline bearing the signatures of at least five hundred registered voters who reside within the boundaries of the District at the time of their signature on the petition.
