Special education families invited to Parent Transition Meeting
Springfield Public Schools invites special education families to a special Parent Transition Event Thursday, Nov. 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Empowering: Abilities, located at 2864 S. Nettleton Ave.
This SPS event serves to inform parents in order to facilitate their child's successful transition into adulthood. Topics include an introduction to transition, safety, security and benefits counseling, self-determination and supported decision making, employment and education options, and community supports for independent living and continuing education.
This evening is possible due to the partnership of Springfield Public Schools, Abilities First and The Arc of the Ozarks: Family Advocacy as well as support from Empower: Abilities, and The Regional Office
