The Alliance is a nonprofit corporation created by CoxHealth, Missouri State University (“MSU”), Ozarks Technical Community College (“OTC”), and Springfield Public Schools (“SPS”). The Alliance’s mission is to form an educational enterprise that will create a seamless secondary and post-secondary educational experience. This bold, collaborative approach to healthcare education seeks to develop the talent to meet – and exceed – our region’s healthcare workforce needs for decades to come. The Alliance creates unprecedented and exciting opportunities for students across the region.
Program Information

Through enrollment in the Alliance for Healthcare Education, students are equipped Springfield Public Schools students with the knowledge and credentials needed to gain employment in the healthcare industry and/or apply to top healthcare programs for continued education. Students may receive up to 60 hours of career exploration in healthcare professions, including hands-on activities in labs, special presentations by healthcare professionals and job shadowing at Cox South.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will have earned their high school diploma and college credits. Credits and certifications earned vary based on the student selected track: Certified Nurse Assistant certification, Emergency Medical Technician certification, or Associate of Arts in Bioclinical Sciences (credits earned toward degree or full degree). This is a full day program held at the Springfield Ozarks Tech campus.
Eligibility

- Be an SPS junior Fall 2025
- Have earned Biology credit by the start of Fall 2025
- Receive building administrator and counselor recommendation
- Have satisfactory attendance and behavior
- 85%+ attendance average for two years up to the point of application
- No Out of School Suspension (OSS) for two years up to the point of application
- No more than four In School Suspension (ISS) for two years up to the point of application
- No ISS incidents related to violence for two years up to the point of application
- Participate in a scored interview with Springfield Public Schools and Ozarks Technical Community College staff.
