Instructional Time is 7:20 am to 2:20 pm. Students need to be in attendance every day they are healthy. The bell rings right at 7:20 am, and students should be IN their rooms ready to learn at that time. The dismissal bell rings at 2:20 pm. Students should remain in class until dismissal time each day, and not be picked up early unless there is an appointment or an emergency. Students who are late to school or picked up early are counted absent for those instructional minutes, and although it may only feel like a few minutes here or a few minutes there, they add up over time. When your child is late to school, they must play catch up as soon as they get here. When your child is picked up early, they miss out on instruction.
Please make it a priority for your child to attend full days every day of school they are healthy.
Students are not allowed to congregate in large crowds, and students will not be able to stay in a common space in the mornings. Because of this district-wide shift, doors will open at 7:00 am each day. Please do not drop your child off before 7:00 am, as there is no supervision outside prior to 7:00 am for students.
The most efficient way for students to get to and from school is by riding the bus. If your child is eligible for bus service, my recommendation is to take advantage of the free bus, and save yourself a trip through the traffic & car line. Traffic can get backed up and the car line can take a frustratingly long time.
If your child is not eligible to ride the school bus, you will utilize the car line. NO STUDENTS SHOULD BE DROPPED OFF AT THE STREET - ALL MUST COME THROUGH CAR LINE. You will enter off of Delaware Ave., near the digital sign. The car line goes in front of the school, to the RIGHT, and winds around the community room (if you see the sign for the community room, you’re in the right spot!). Keep driving the loop till you see a sign that looks like this. This is where you take a left and back out to Delaware Ave., like a giant loop.
Please do not take the shortcut to your left, through the parking lot, once you reached the edge of the building. The size of the car line loop was designed to pull as many cars off of Delaware Ave. as possible. The lot will be one way traffic each morning & afternoon to avoid jams and accidents. Thank you for following this procedure.
Afternoon car line will follow the same procedures. The first cars should pull up all the way to the sign above, and continue to follow the line around the front of the building. Please do not cut in the car line, and please do not come inside the building to check your child out early to avoid the car line - this goes against their attendance. At the end of the day, students will be called to the car line and adults will assist in getting students into proper cars.
