Volunteer at Field

Field is fortunate to have strong community support and volunteers. On any given day you will find many volunteers supporting learning in the classroom and supporting teachers with clerical tasks. All of our PTA functions are made possible only through the support of volunteers. Although we do have several community volunteers, our primary volunteer source is our parents. As you will see below, there are several different types of volunteer opportunities available. Please know that some volunteer opportunities require a background check to be completed. Background check information and volunteer registration paperwork must be completed annually. Packets will be available at the beginning of school and may be turned in at the Field Office. We ask that all volunteers keep track of their time in our volunteer log (this includes time spend volunteering on projects at home as well).

Volunteer Opportunities:

Classroom clerical- hanging bulletin boards, filling take-home folders, photo copying papers, etc. Some items like cutting out laminating may be taken home to complete and then returned to school.

Classroom Support - Some teachers have opportunities for parents to come volunteer during center time to help students in activities while the teacher is working with small groups. Other teachers ask for parent support to help mentor or facilitate a literature discussion.

Guest Speaker- We are always looking for experts in their field (occupations and hobbies or interests) to come and share with students their knowledge.

Field trip - Many field trips require us to have parents willing to chaperone a small group of students.

PTA Homeroom Mom/Dad - help organize class parties (December & February) and other class activities the teacher needs assistance with.

PTA Programs - Volunteers are needed to take leadership in planning events and in volunteering during events. Events include: Fall Festival, Health Fair, yearbook, and Spring Dance.  There are many throughout the year so please look for specific opportunities in the Field Flyer (monthly newsletter).

Lunchroom - We are always looking for parents to volunteer in the lunchroom. There are always plenty of things to be opened that little hands have a hard time with.

PTA Officers & Chairmen - Our PTA is one of our school's cornerstones. There are many opportunities for our students we would not have if it were not for the dedication of our PTA parents. If you review our PTA list of chairman you will note a wide variety of volunteer opportunities with different time commitments (some one time, others all year). Please consider getting involved in a leadership role at our school.
