Boyd Elementary is a collaborative community developing internationally-minded learners who form real world connections and inspire action toward peace.
Boyd Elementary is the home of the first PTA organization in Springfield.
In 1913 the Mothers Circle of Boyd Elementary was organized into the Springfield Council of the National Congress of Mothers and Parent-Teacher Associations. Early projects included clean drinking water for the students at recess, an anti-fly campaign, classroom cleanliness and ventilation, skating safety programs, a baby welfare program, and Operation Toothbrush Drill which enabled every child to have a good toothbrush.
