Student Council/Cabinet is a service organization to the school and to the surrounding community. Student Council is made up of student representatives elected by their peers. StuCo allows three officers and ten representatives to hold positions for each class. Cabinet consists of three officers elected by the student body and eight commissioners selected by a committee of students and teachers. Student Council/Cabinet organizes nearly all student activities at PHS, including the following: community service projects, charity donations, dances, spirit weeks, blood drives, assemblies, elections, videos, marquee changes, Viking Views (daily announcements), Pillage Night (fall carnival), and Scholastic Tea (academic honors ceremony). This is a very busy organization! Getting involved with Student Council/Cabinet means getting involved with the entire school. Being a member of StuCo means having dedication to and pride in Parkview High School. The experiences gained from participating in StuCo include building leadership skills, strengthening social skills, hearing the “student voice” and accepting responsibility. If you have the desire to make a difference, Student Council/Cabinet will open doors to great opportunities and will be an experience that will last a lifetime.
