Wright Mrs. Courtney Wright, Courtney Music I. Specialty Teachers Courtney Wright has been in education for 13 years. This is her 2nd year at Sequiota. She received her Bachelors of Music Education from Southwest Baptist University and her Masters of Music from Missouri State University. McAllister Ms. Cortney McAllister, Cortney Visual Arts I. Verfurth Mrs. Meagan Verfurth, Meagan Counselor I. Specialty Teachers Meagan Verfurth has worked for SPS for four years. She started her career in education as a developmental screener for Parents As Teachers. She has been the School Counselor at Sequiota since the spring of 2017. Meagan graduated from MSU with her undergraduate degree in Child and Family Development and received her graduate degree in School Counseling. Lohman Ms. Amy Lohman, Amy Speech Language Pathologist H. Special Education Amy Lohman is beginning her 20th year as a speech-language pathologist with SPS. She worked her first year as an SLP in southern California. Amy has worked at several schools throughout the Springfield school district and currently serves the students and families at Sequiota and Field Elementary. Robertson Mrs. Shellie Robertson, Shellie Occupational Therapist H. Special Education Shellie has been an Occupational Therapist with Springfield Public Schools for the past 18 years. Shellie currently travels to eight different schools providing services to children from the age of 3-21.�She feels privileged to be a part of the Sequiota Tribe, and admits it is one of her favorite sites.�In her free time she enjoys traveling, kayaking, campfires, and reading.� srobertson490@spsmail.org
Thomas Mr. Curtis Thomas, Curtis School Librarian J. Library This is Curtis’s second year as Sequiota’s librarian. He previously taught journalism and English at Hillcrest High School, and broadcast journalism at Central before that. He has a bachelor’s degree in English education from MSU and a Master’s in English from MU. His wife Jenny teaches 3rd grade at Pershing Elementary and they have a son, Louis, who is two years old. Sharkey Mr. Steve Sharkey, Steve Instructional Support Aide K. Support Staff Steve Sharkey began his career in education with SPS 18 years ago in 2001.�Prior to becoming an ISA at Sequiota, Steve was a sub with SPS for 3 years, teaching art for a semester and 3rd grade for a semester at Williams Elementary among other assignments. He was a kindergarten para at Williams Elementary for 3 years and a Wonder Years para for 5 years at Shady Dell Early Childhood Center. Gillham Mrs. Jennifer Gillham, Jennifer Paraprofessional H. Special Education Jennifer Gillham is the SPED Para at Sequiota. Morris Mrs. Jennifer Morris, Jennifer Instructional Technologist STEAM I. Specialty Teachers Jennifer Morris is our Instructional Technologist and STEAM teacher. She has been with SPS for 8 years. This is her 5th year at Sequoita. She has taught several things including first grade and preschool.She graduated from Culver-Stockton College in 1995 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She is a certified teacher. In 2000, Mrs. Morris graduated with a M.S in Educational Administration from Missouri State University. Wagner Mrs. Jessica Wagner, Jessica Principal A. Administration Mrs. Wagner is starting her 11th year in Springfield Public Schools. This will be her 2nd year at Sequiota. She completed her Specialist degree in Educational Leadership at Arkansas State University, her Masters in Instructional Leadership at Drury University, and her bachelors in Art Education at MSU. Dees Mrs. Melba Dees, Melba Administrative Assistant L. Office Melba Dees, aka Mrs. Melba is starting her 10th year as the secretary at Sequiota. Mrs. Melba was the secretary at Boyd Elementary for 6 years.She and her husband, Larry, have two children, Jessica and David. They also have two wonderful grandchildren and one due in February, named Zachary. They live in Republic with their parents and their names are Paisley and Keaton. Brown Mrs. Jessie Brown, Jessie Nurse L. Office Hello, the students call me "Nurse Jessie". This is my second year at Seqiuota. My nursing background is Pediatrics and Step-Down Critical Care at Cox Health. I love the school setting and making a differences in our students lives on a daily basis. I am also a Sequiota parent. Durden Mr. Bruce Durden, Bruce Head Custodian M. Custodial Bruce Durden is Sequiota’s head custodian. Before SPS Bruce worked for Boeing Aerospace in San Antonio, TX for 15 years. He came to Springfield to be closer to family. Bruce has 2 children who serve as international missionaries. He has two grandkids. Bruce’s wife moved from the Philippines last year. Johnston Mr. Andy Johnston, Andy Orchestra I. Specialty Teachers Andy Johnston directs the Springfield Youth Symphony, the Glendale High School Orchestras, fifth grade orchestra at Field, Pershing, Sequiota, and Wilder Elementary Schools, and he directs the Southwest Baptist University Orchestra. This is his 32nd year teaching strings, and his 23rd at Sequiota. Andy graduated from Oklahoma State University, where he majored in music education and violin performance. Thalia is from Springfield and went to Central High School. She is attending OTC, and will finish at MSU. She is majoring in Business and will help her husband with their construction business. Andrews Mrs. Kenda Andrews, Kenda Nutrition Specialist N. Nutrition My name is Kenda Andrews. I am from Warrensburg, Missouri originally but I have lived in Springfield since I was in high school.I have been married to my husband Jeff for 22 years. We have two daughters and two sons. Jordan is 20, Mia is 16, Logan is 12 and Jack is 11. Prior to working at Sequiota I was a stay at home mom for 14 years. Hubbell Mrs. Bethany Hubbell, Bethany Teacher B. Kindergarten This is Bethany Hubbell's 13th year in education. She spent 9 years in 1st grade, 2 in 2nd grade and is excited about her 2nd year in Kindergarten. She received her Bachelors in Education from Missouri State University as well as her Masters in Literacy. When Bethany is not at school, you can find her spending time with her family. Slominsky Mrs. Michelle Slominsky, Michelle Teacher B. Kindergarten This will be Michelle�s 16th year of teaching, her 7th year at Sequiota. She has a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Masters in Reading Foundations and an Educational Specialist in Teacher Leadership, all from Missouri State University. It is her passion to help children develop into curious and kind learners. She has been married for 15 years and has 2 young children. Nichols Mrs. Dottie Nichols, Dottie Teacher C. 1st grade Dottie Nichols has taught at Sequiota for 16 years, 14 in 1st grade. She has also taught a 2nd grade and a 1-2 split. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education with a certification in TESOL. Mrs. Nichols holds a Master of Science in Reading Education from MSU. Her passion is to see children learn and grow, to ensure they feel loved and valued, and to watch them blossom into confident and successful learners. Kilburn Mrs. Krissi Kilburn, Krissi Teacher D. 2nd grade Krissi Kilburn has been in education for nine years. She is a second grade teacher with past teaching experience in kindergarten and fifth. Before joining the Sequiota staff Krissi had taught in Independence and Republic Missouri. Wadsworth Mrs. Sheri Wadsworth, Sheri Teacher D. 2nd grade Sheri Wadsworth has been an elementary education teacher for Springfield Public Schools for 26 years with 25 of those being at Sequiota Elementary. She has taught grades 2, 3, 4, and 5.� Her favorite thing about teaching is to find creative ways to help all students be successful with their learning. James Mr. Matthew James, Matthew Teacher G. 5th grade Matthew James is entering his second year of education. This is his second year at Sequiota as a third grade teacher. Prior to teaching, Matthew was a performer in Branson, Chicago, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Matthew is currently finishing his Master of Science degree in Elementary Education from MSU. In his free time Matthew enjoys performing for local community theater, reading, music, cooking, and working on his new house. Zay Mrs. Traci Zay, Traci Teacher E. 3rd grade Traci Zay has been teaching for 2 years. She is a graduate of Drury college with a masters in EDU. She is a wife to Mark and a mother to two grown children. Her hobbies include walks with her 12 year old Yorkie, Scruffie, watching ballet, book clubs and theatre. Griffin Mrs. Bobbie Griffin, Bobbie Teacher E. 3rd grade Bobbie Griffin is beginning her eleventh year of teaching. She taught at Chadwick Elementary School for four years before moving to Sequiota Elementary. Most of her teaching experience has been in the third grade classroom, but she also taught kindergarten for one year and will be teaching fourth grade this year. In addition to a masters degree in elementary education, she has reading specialist and gifted and talented certifications. Nelson Mrs. Traci Nelson, Traci Teacher F. Fourth Traci Nelson has been teaching for 26 years.�She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Elementary Education.�She has previously taught at York Elementary. Schofield Mrs. Sarah Schofield, Sarah Teacher F. Fourth Sarah Schofield has been teaching for 18 years. She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelors of Social Work. She graduated from Drury with a Masters of Science in Elementary Education. She taught fifth grade at Weaver for one year, and the other 16 years have been at Sequiota teaching fourth and fifth grades. Collins Miss Amanda Collins, Amanda Teacher G. 5th grade Amanda Collins has been in education for 17 years. Faucher Mrs. Liz Faucher, Liz Teacher H. Special Education Liz Faucher is starting her fifth year of teaching this year. She graduated with her Bachelors Degree in Special Education in 2015, and her Masters Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism in 2017. Seidel Mrs. Hannah Seidel, Hannah Teacher H. Special Education Hannah Seidel is the part-time special education teacher at Sequiota. She will be spending half of the day at Sequiota Elementary and the other half at Wilder Elementary. She graduated from Missouri State University in May 2018 with a Bachelor�s in Special Education. She is a first-year teacher and excited to be joining the Sequiota Tribe! She and Caleb were married in June 2019. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Duncan Mrs. Cindy Duncan, Cindy Teacher D. 2nd grade Mrs. Duncan has been an educator for 21 years. She has taught Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade, Fifth Grade, and Sixth Grade. Rader Mrs. Danae Rader, Danae Teacher C. 1st grade This is Danae Rader’s 5th year in education. She began her teaching career in Clever, where she taught for 4 years before moving to Springfield Public Schools. She received her Masters in Exceptional Children and Youth from Drury University in 2018. She is currently attending Lindenwood University working on her Specialist degree in Elementary Education. Shelton Mrs. Bobbie Shelton, Bobbie Lunchroom Aide K. Support Staff Bobbie Shelton is Sequiota's lunchroom aide.She has been a stay at home parent for 16 years. She did have a side gig as a freelance photographer for the News-Leader, but hung up her camera. Bobbie graduated from Drury with a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology. She has been married 23 years and is mom to two teenage girls. They attend Central High School.She was a very active PTA mom. She enjoys being with her family; traveling, baking, walking their dogs and volunteering at the Humane Society.

I am freshly graduated from the University of Arkansas—Wooo Pig Sooie—with my Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. Being a book worm is who I am and loving books is my ultimate hobby!
