Sharkey Mr. Steve Sharkey, Steve Instructional Support Aide K. Support Staff Steve Sharkey began his career in education with SPS in 2001. Prior to becoming an ISA at Sequiota, Steve was a sub with SPS for 3 years, teaching art for a semester and 3rd grade for a semester at Williams Elementary among other assignments. He was a kindergarten para at Williams Elementary for 3 years and a Wonder Years para for 5 years at Shady Dell Early Childhood Center. He has been at Sequiota for 7 years as a classroom para, computer teacher and his present position as ISA. ssharkey@spsmail.org
Morris Mrs. Jennifer Morris, Jennifer Instructional Technologist STEAM I. Specialty Teachers Jennifer Morris is our Instructional Technologist and STEAM teacher. She has been with SPS for 8 years. This is her 5th year at Sequoita. She has taught several things including first grade and preschool.She graduated from Culver-Stockton College in 1995 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She is a certified teacher. In 2000, Mrs. Morris graduated with a M.S in Educational Administration from Missouri State University. Wagner Mrs. Jessica Wagner, Jessica Principal A. Administration Mrs. Wagner is starting her 11th year in Springfield Public Schools. This will be her 2nd year at Sequiota. She completed her Specialist degree in Educational Leadership at Arkansas State University, her Masters in Instructional Leadership at Drury University, and her bachelors in Art Education at MSU. Atkinson Ms. Sara Atkinson, Sara Administrative Assistant B. Front Office I joined the Sequiota Family in 2020, at the height of the pandemic. Each year since has been a new adventure! I worked as a medical and surgical tech for a group of ophthalmologists for 17 years, and as an insurance agent for 1 year (I am not made for sales) and I have never been happier than I am with my Sequiota Family. Durden Mr. Bruce Durden, Bruce Head Custodian M. Custodial Bruce Durden is Sequiota’s head custodian. Before SPS Bruce worked for Boeing Aerospace in San Antonio, TX for 15 years. He came to Springfield to be closer to family. Bruce has 2 children who serve as international missionaries. Shelton Mrs. Bobbie Shelton, Bobbie Teacher Intern K. Support Staff I'm from Springfield, married 26 years. My husband an I met on a blind date! We have 2 girls; 19 and 17. I graduated from Drury University with a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology. I was a stay at home mom for many years. I used to do freelance writing and photography for the News-Leader, was involved in the PTA in my girls' elementary school years and I enjoy volunteering at the Humane Society. I love traveling, baking, roller skating, watching movies and cuddling with my fur babies.
Hubbell Mrs. Bethany Hubbell, Bethany Kindergarten Teacher C. Kindergarten Bethany Hubbell has been teaching for 16 years teaching and this is her 5th year at Sequiota. She received her Masters in Literacy from Missouri State University and is passionate about teaching kids to become readers. In her little bit of free time, she loves to travel, listen to music, play board games, and spend time with my family and two dogs (Albus and Harry). I have my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, and my Master's degree in Literacy. This is my 4th year teaching kindergarten in Springfield. My husband works for the Springfield fire department and we have a 1 year old son. We are very involved in our church and love getting together with friends to play games and hang out! Nichols Mrs. Dottie Nichols, Dottie First Grade Teacher D. 1st grade Dottie Nichols has taught at Sequiota for 16 years, 14 in 1st grade. She has also taught a 2nd grade and a 1-2 split. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education with a certification in TESOL. Mrs. Nichols holds a Master of Science in Reading Education from MSU. Her passion is to see children learn and grow, to ensure they feel loved and valued, and to watch them blossom into confident and successful learners. Kilburn Mrs. Krissi Kilburn, Krissi Second Grade Teacher E. 2nd grade Krissi Kilburn has been in education for nine years. She is a second grade teacher with past teaching experience in kindergarten and fifth. Before joining the Sequiota staff Krissi had taught in Independence and Republic Missouri. Zay Mrs. Traci Zay, Traci Third Grade Teacher F. 3rd grade I enjoy teaching, spending time with my grown-up children and parents for backyard pool parties, traveling, and taking trips to watch my daughter, a professional ballerina, dance. I am a mom to two, wife, and owner of a Yorkie named Scruffie. Griffin Mrs. Bobbie Griffin, Bobbie Third Grade Teacher F. 3rd grade Bobbie Griffin has been teaching for fifteen years, and has spent eleven of them at Sequiota. In addition to a masters degree in elementary education, she has reading specialist and gifted and talented certifications. It is her goal to help each of her students develop a love for learning and help each of them reach their full potential. Nelson Mrs. Traci Nelson, Traci Fourth Grade Teacher G. 4th Grade Traci Nelson has been teaching for 30 years. She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Elementary Education. She has previously taught at York Elementary. Throughout her 30 years, she has taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. Outside of teaching, Traci enjoys spending time with her family. Schofield Mrs. Sarah Schofield, Sarah Fourth Grade Teacher G. 4th Grade Sarah Schofield has been teaching for 18 years. She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelors of Social Work. She graduated from Drury with a Masters of Science in Elementary Education. She taught fifth grade at Weaver for one year, and the other 16 years have been at Sequiota teaching fourth and fifth grades. Tan Mrs. Kimberly Tan, Kimberly Special Education Teacher H. Special Education Kimberly Tan has been a special educator for over a decade. She received her two Bachelor degrees (Elementary Education: K-5 and Special Education: K-12) from Morehead State University in Kentucky. She received her Masters in Literacy from Missouri State University. When Kimberly is not at school, you can find her spending time with her husband (Justin) and son (Bowen). She graduated from Missouri State University in May 2018 with a Bachelor's in Special Education. She is an integral part of the Sequiota Tribe! She and Caleb were married in June 2019. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Literacy, both from Evangel University. It is her passion to help children become compassionate citizens and lifelong learners. She has been married for 12 years and has 2 young children. Olson Ms. Katie Olson, Katie Third Grade Teacher F. 3rd grade Hi, I'm Katie Olson and this is my 4th year teaching 3rd grade at Sequiota. I adore my 3rd grade teaching team and the community that surrounds Sequiota. Affectionately known as the "Eyeball Lady", I embrace my uniqueness and try to instill this trait in my students. It's my hope that every SINGLE student that has passed through my life has felt the love and support that I have for them. Rader Mrs. Danae Rader, Danae School Community Liaison B. Front Office This is Danae Rader’s 7th year in education. She began her teaching career in Clever, where she taught for 4 years before moving to Springfield Public Schools. She received her Masters in Exceptional Children and Youth from Drury University and completed her Specialist degree in Elementary Education from Lindenwood University. I am from Kansas City but I moved to Springfield to attend Missouri State University in 2008. I graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I went on to receive my Master’s Degree in Literacy from Evangel University in 2016. I have taught for 7 years and stayed home for 3. Cataldo Mr. Larry Cataldo, Larry Special Education Para H. Special Education I'm a single dad with kids living at home while attending local colleges. I have a BS in Education-English and MS in School Counseling 8-12. I enjoy sending time with my kids, writing and recording music, writing poetry, prose, satire, film scripts, my memoir and first novel in progress. I enjoy watching films and TV, listening to music almost constantly, and relaxing at home with the kids and our dogs.
