Lohman Ms. Amy Lohman, Amy Speech Language Pathologist H. Special Education My name is Amy Lohman and I am the speech-language pathologist at Sequiota. I have been with the district for 24 years and love working with students! I have a masters degree from Missouri State University and a bachelor's degree from SIU-Edwardsville. I have a son and daughter that are both students and Glendale High School and enjoy spending my free time with them. Sharkey Mr. Steve Sharkey, Steve Instructional Support Aide K. Support Staff Steve Sharkey began his career in education with SPS in 2001. Prior to becoming an ISA at Sequiota, Steve was a sub with SPS for 3 years, teaching art for a semester and 3rd grade for a semester at Williams Elementary among other assignments. He was a kindergarten para at Williams Elementary for 3 years and a Wonder Years para for 5 years at Shady Dell Early Childhood Center. He has been at Sequiota for 7 years as a classroom para, computer teacher and his present position as ISA.
Morris Mrs. Jennifer Morris, Jennifer Instructional Technologist STEAM I. Specialty Teachers Jennifer Morris is our Instructional Technologist and STEAM teacher. She has been with SPS for 8 years. This is her 5th year at Sequoita. She has taught several things including first grade and preschool.She graduated from Culver-Stockton College in 1995 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She is a certified teacher. In 2000, Mrs. Morris graduated with a M.S in Educational Administration from Missouri State University. Mrs. Morris lives in Ozark with her husband of 17 years and two teenagers.
Hathcock Mrs. Abby Hathcock, Abby Principal A. Administration I have enjoyed serving SPS in various buildings as a para, teacher, and Assistant Principal. Being able to come home to my alma mater of Sequiota Elementary and serve as the principal gives me great joy and pride to represent this community well. I have my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Missouri State and earned my Masters degree from Evangel University in Servant Leadership, Educational Administration.
Atkinson Ms. Sara Atkinson, Sara Administrative Assistant B. Front Office I joined the Sequiota Family in 2020, at the height of the pandemic. Each year since has been a new adventure! I worked as a medical and surgical tech for a group of ophthalmologists for 17 years, and as an insurance agent for 1 year (I am not made for sales) and I have never been happier than I am with my Sequiota Family. I have 2 adult daughters who I love spending time with.
Brown Mrs. Jessie Brown, Jessie Nurse B. Front Office Hello, Nurse Jessie here. I've been the school nurse at Sequiota since fall of 2018. Before school nursing, I worked on the Pediatric Unit in the hospital. I love the school setting. Each day is a new day to build a connection with students and families. Durden Mr. Bruce Durden, Bruce Head Custodian M. Custodial Bruce Durden is Sequiota’s head custodian. Before SPS Bruce worked for Boeing Aerospace in San Antonio, TX for 15 years. He came to Springfield to be closer to family. Bruce has 2 children who serve as international missionaries. He has two grandkids and in his free time, Bruce likes to kayak and do spray paint art.

I am married and have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. My husband is a preacher in Hermitage were we live. I spend time with family, time at the lake and walking.

Andrews Mrs. Kenda Andrews, Kenda Kitchen Lead Nutrition Specialist N. Nutrition I’ve been married to Jeff for 25 years; we have four children; Jordan-23, Mia-19, Logan-15 and Jack-13. In my spare time I enjoy reading, sewing, and being outside. This is my 8th year at Sequiota.
Shelton Mrs. Bobbie Shelton, Bobbie Teacher Intern K. Support Staff I'm from Springfield, married 26 years. My husband an I met on a blind date! We have 2 girls; 19 and 17. I graduated from Drury University with a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology. I was a stay at home mom for many years. I used to do freelance writing and photography for the News-Leader, was involved in the PTA in my girls' elementary school years and I enjoy volunteering at the Humane Society. I love traveling, baking, roller skating, watching movies and cuddling with my fur babies.
Flatness Mrs. Rachel Flatness, Rachel Kindergarten Teacher C. Kindergarten I grew up in Anchorage, AK and I moved to Missouri to attend college. I have been teaching since 1997. I have a Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from MSU. I have been married to my husband, Steve, since 1989 and we have two grown daughters and three grandchildren. I love to knit, read, quilt, and crochet. I am learning to play golf.
Maggard Mrs. Mackenzie Maggard, Mackenzie Kindergarten Teacher C. Kindergarten Hello Sequiota families! Here is a little about me, both personally and professionally. I have my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, and my Master's degree in Literacy. This is my 4th year teaching kindergarten in Springfield. My husband works for the Springfield fire department and we have a 1 year old son. We are very involved in our church and love getting together with friends to play games and hang out! Nichols Mrs. Dottie Nichols, Dottie First Grade Teacher D. 1st grade Dottie Nichols has taught at Sequiota for 16 years, 14 in 1st grade. She has also taught a 2nd grade and a 1-2 split. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education with a certification in TESOL. Mrs. Nichols holds a Master of Science in Reading Education from MSU. Her passion is to see children learn and grow, to ensure they feel loved and valued, and to watch them blossom into confident and successful learners. Getting to know her students and building strong relationships is her priority.
Kilburn Mrs. Krissi Kilburn, Krissi Second Grade Teacher E. 2nd grade Krissi Kilburn has been in education for nine years. She is a second grade teacher with past teaching experience in kindergarten and fifth. Before joining the Sequiota staff Krissi had taught in Independence and Republic Missouri. Krissi holds two degrees; a�Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics from Missouri State, and a Masters in Teaching and Curriculum Instruction with an emphasis in Reading from Mizzou.In her free time she enjoys reading, painting, golf
Wadsworth Mrs. Sheri Wadsworth, Sheri Second Grade Teacher E. 2nd grade Mrs. Wadsworth started teaching in 1993 and has spent all of those years but one at Sequiota Elementary. Her special talent in the classroom is finding creative ways for all students to be successful.

Hutchison Mrs. Alana Hutchison, Alana Second Grade Teacher E. 2nd grade I have been a teacher for 16 years. I graduated from Missouri State with a degree in Elementary Education. Then I went back to school and graduated from William Woods University with my Master's degree in Elementary Administration. I've taught first, second, and third grade. In my spare time, my family and I enjoy traveling, visiting national parks, kayaking and camping.
Griffin Mrs. Bobbie Griffin, Bobbie Third Grade Teacher F. 3rd grade Bobbie Griffin has been teaching for fifteen years, and has spent eleven of them at Sequiota. In addition to a masters degree in elementary education, she has reading specialist and gifted and talented certifications. It is her goal to help each of her students develop a love for learning and help each of them reach their full potential. She enjoys running, reading, traveling, spending time outdoors, and spoiling her dogs. Being Aunt Bobbie is also one of her very favorite roles!

Schofield Mrs. Sarah Schofield, Sarah Fourth Grade Teacher G. 4th Grade Sarah Schofield has been teaching for 18 years. She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelors of Social Work. She graduated from Drury with a Masters of Science in Elementary Education. She taught fifth grade at Weaver for one year, and the other 16 years have been at Sequiota teaching fourth and fifth grades. When Sarah is not teaching, she enjoys running, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Tan Mrs. Kimberly Tan, Kimberly Special Education Teacher H. Special Education Kimberly Tan has been a special educator for over a decade. She received her two Bachelor degrees (Elementary Education: K-5 and Special Education: K-12) from Morehead State University in Kentucky. She received her Masters in Literacy from Missouri State University. When Kimberly is not at school, you can find her spending time with her husband (Justin) and son (Bowen). She also enjoys traveling, reading, and painting.
Seidel Mrs. Hannah Seidel, Hannah Special Education Teacher H. Special Education Hannah Seidel is one of our amazing special education teachers at Sequiota. She graduated from Missouri State University in May 2018 with a Bachelor's in Special Education. She is an integral part of the Sequiota Tribe! She and Caleb were married in June 2019. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Hoing Mrs. Rachel Hoing, Rachel Kindergarten Teacher C. Kindergarten This is her 10th year of teaching, and her 1st year at Sequiota. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Literacy, both from Evangel University. It is her passion to help children become compassionate citizens and lifelong learners. She has been married for 12 years and has 2 young children. She loves spending time with family and friends, traveling, going to movies, walking and chips and queso!
Duncan Ms. Cindy Duncan, Cindy Fifth Grade Teacher H. 5th Grade Mrs. Duncan has been an educator for 24 years. She has taught Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade, Fifth Grade, and Sixth Grade. She has a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree, both in Elementary Education. Both degrees are from Missouri State University. She is currently teaching Fifth Grade here at Sequiota. She has three daughters, one grandson and one granddaughter.
Olson Ms. Katie Olson, Katie Third Grade Teacher F. 3rd grade Hi, I'm Katie Olson and this is my 4th year teaching 3rd grade at Sequiota. I adore my 3rd grade teaching team and the community that surrounds Sequiota. Affectionately known as the "Eyeball Lady", I embrace my uniqueness and try to instill this trait in my students. It's my hope that every SINGLE student that has passed through my life has felt the love and support that I have for them. When I'm not teaching I'm lying in a pile of dogs, reading books, or creating things.
Rader Mrs. Danae Rader, Danae School Community Liaison B. Front Office This is Danae Rader’s 7th year in education. She began her teaching career in Clever, where she taught for 4 years before moving to Springfield Public Schools. She received her Masters in Exceptional Children and Youth from Drury University and completed her Specialist degree in Elementary Education from Lindenwood University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, new daughter (born June 2022) and her three dogs. You can find her camping or spending time at Table Rock Lake
Hunton Mrs. Spenser Hunton, Spenser First Grade Teacher D. 1st grade I am married with two sweet kids. We love to do anything outdoors such as biking, playing at the park and going on nature walks. I chose to become a teacher because I love being around kids and teaching is a passion of mine!
Medina Mrs. Mercedes Medina, Mercedes First Grade Teacher D. 1st grade Hello! I am so thankful to be a part of the Sequiota school family! I am from Kansas City but I moved to Springfield to attend Missouri State University in 2008. I graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I went on to receive my Master’s Degree in Literacy from Evangel University in 2016. I have taught for 7 years and stayed home for 3. I am married for almost 10 years to Seth and we have two energetic and fun children, Everly (6) and Coen (3).
