ANNUAL FOOD FIGHT: MARCH 20-31
Since 2011, Springfield Public Schools and Ozarks's Food Harvest have partnered for Food Fight, an annual fund and food drive competition. Through Food Fight, SPS students helped provide more than 360,000 meals for our hungry neighbors and sponsored 190 at-risk students for a full year of weekend meals through The Food Bank's Weekend Backpack Programs. In addition to raising meals for our community. Food Fight provides an opportunity for students to learn about the issues of hunger in southwest Missouri and empowers them to take action.
1. Ozarks Food Harvest will secure a community partner to raise food and funds on the participating school's behalf within the 2 week period. March 20-31: FOOD FIGHT
2. Winners are determined by the greatest number of meals raised per student.
3. $1 donation or 5 pounds of food equals 4 meals. Schools can collect food, funds, or both. Each school and partner team will be provided with an online fundraising site. Winners will be announced April 17.
