What happens if we have a SNOW DAY?
When will the next "snow day" be for SPS? What will we need to do IF there is a snow day? That will be the question on many people's minds. So, here is some information to help!
- As of today, Tuesday, February 11th, the next day that is announced as a "Snow Day" will be a regular "Snow Day". We are at home enjoying the wintery weather. (We had this last regular "Snow day" on Wednesday, February 12th)
- After this last "regular" snow day occurs, the next one will be an AMI day (Alternative Methods of Instruction Day). If we have any days called off due to weather or emergency now, they will be AMI days.
- On our first, and any future, AMI day, students will need to complete, and turn in, classwork to be counted as "present" for attendance that day. This work will need to be turned in the next day we are in the building for school.
- Students who do not turn in the work for the AMI day will be marked as "absent" for that day.
How do students do their AMI "work"?
- Students will need to get out the packet that was sent home in December for any possible AMI days that may occur.
- The directions and which pages they are to complete are listed in the packet.
- Parents will receive a Seesaw message, or an email if you haven't signed up for Seesaw yet, to give you more information on completing the work for that day.
What do we do if we can't find the packet at home?
- Go to the following link and click on it. It will take you to the SPS website AMI page where there are links for every grade level's AMI packet.
