New coach named to lead HHS football program
Springfield Public Schools is pleased to announce Justin Gerald will be the new head football coach for Hillcrest High School, beginning with the 2018-2019 school year.
He has nine years of experience in coaching high school football. Since 2016, Gerald has served at Hillcrest as assistant football coach and head girls basketball coach. Last season, he was also the football team’s defensive coordinator.
Prior to joining SPS, he worked for Miller High School, where he was assistant football coach and head basketball coach.
Gerald is a 2004 graduate of Hillcrest. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Central Methodist University, where he also played football and was a two-time All-American running back. He was recently inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame as a player.
