Event at Holland will emphasize importance of summer reading
Books and reading will be the focus of a Title I Family Night hosted by Holland Elementary School Wednesday, April 25. At 6 p.m., the school will serve free tacos to the first 50 people in the door. That will be followed by a visit to the Springfield-Greene County Library Bookmobile, which will be in the neighborhood that night.
The final activity will be a walking tour of the neighborhood with stops at three Little Free Libraries located on Holland Street, where students can select a free book or trade one they bring from home.
The purpose of the event is to remind families of ways to access free books and encourage reading over the summer.
