Experts predict there will be a global shortage of 1.8 million cybersecurity professionals by 2022. Kickapoo High School students are doing their part to prepare to fill this workforce need by participating in the Missouri High School Cybersecurity Challenge.
On Feb. 21, they participated in the 2023 state finals where they solved cybersecurity challenges in CYBER.org’s Cyber Range.
The following student teams placed:
First place – Tyler Abernathy and Caden Haustein
Sixth place – Ephraim Patty and Sasha Pentsak
“It was a long day and these students showed tremendous problem-solving skills and perseverance,” said Scott Neeman, Kickapoo PLTW CSE master teacher, .
