Central students and staff volunteer to help community
Dec. 2022:
Nearly 70 Central High School Bulldogs volunteered on Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Crosslines annual Christmas toy store and food distribution event at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. This yearly event helps make the holidays a little brighter for thousands of local families.
“This year, Central’s Kilties wanted to organize a community service project that would benefit this event...and wow! It was amazing!” said paraprofessional Roger King. “From planning to sign ups to active participation, the Kilties and their Bulldog peers brought their communities together to help their larger and most important one.”
The CHS organizations, sports teams, and clubs that served with the Kilties were:
Girls basketball, soccer and volleyball teams, boys basketball and football teams, wrestling and track teams, E-Sports, DECA, IB, IB-MYP, PLTW, Key Club, Central Scholars, HOSA, Botanical Society, Central SAAB, BioMedical, Central Intelligence, STEP Team, FCCLA, and band.
Along with hundreds of other volunteers, Central student volunteers helped provide food to over 2,400 neighbors and give toys to nearly 1,450 children.
“Thank you also to the staff who came out in support of Crosslines and Central students,” said King.
