Tours offer community chance to see proposed Proposition S projects

A series of school tours will provide parents and community members with an opportunity to see firsthand why the Community Task Force on Facilities  prioritized these schools for improvements as part of Proposition S, which will appear on the April 4 ballot.

The task force, which included parents, students, community members and SPS staff, studied the needs of all SPS schools and determined these projects were the most critical to ensure quality learning environments for all students and to enhance the safety and security of schools.

The proposed improvements include safety and security upgrades at all schoolsconstructing a new Pipkin Middle School and a new Reed Academy, renovating Pershing School and constructing storm shelter gymnasiums at six elementary schools.
