  • Wireless Internet Options

Posted by Delaware Elementary on 4/2/2020

    Dear Families -

I do hope this message finds you all well!  I cannot begin to tell you how much the staff of Delaware School misses seeing our students each day.  I continue to work at school many days of the week, and when I walk up the hall, see artwork, look at the pictures, I'm immediately drawn to wonder what our students are doing at that moment.  I simply cannot wait until I can see them all again!

Earlier today, the principal of York Elementary and I were chatting via email, and I shared with her that many of our families do not have wireless internet at their homes.  We both have several families on the waiting list for kajeets, or families are finding the kajeets max out on data rather quickly in the day.

The York principal began researching internet options and shared this document with all her families.  If you need free or low-cost internet access at your house, some of these options might be a good idea for you.

During this time of staying-at-home for our safety and the safety of others, I encourage each student to spend as much time outside each day as they can!  Fresh air clears the brain and is good for our bodies.  Too much screen time is not good for our eyes, and I want to encourage every person to take advantage of the beautiful weather we've enjoyed recently.

I am thinking of each of you - and please continue to reach out to us for anything you need.

    I miss you!

    ~Mrs. Young~

  • Greeting Delaware Families!

Posted by Delaware Elementary on 3/17/2020

Mrs. Young here with a quick spring break message -

Leaders of our school district are working hard to make plans & communicate plans to families. We know the sudden change for the next two weeks can cause lots of questions and anxiety for both students and parents, and I honor that (I'm feeling it, too!). I promise that as soon as plans are communicated, we'll share them out in multiple ways. Stay tuned, but in the meantime, let's remember that this week was spring break anyway, and while for many, that now means staying at home, I encourage you to take this week to kick back, reconnect with laughter, play some board games, put puzzles together, watch some movies, and give your brain permission to relax! I miss you!

    Love,
    Mrs. Young
