ACT Workshop prepares students

More than 70 students participated in the ACT/College Prep Workshop at Springfield Public Schools’ Kraft Administrative Center on Feb. 19, 2026.

From the quadratic equation to comma rules, 2024 Glendale valedictorian alumna Amari Isaia provided simple, memorable content and test-taking strategies. While still in high school, Isaia started her own business teaching ACT strategies. Even though she was still in high school, she had a great presence when presenting the material and was asked to lead the workshop as a high school senior. This was year three that Isaia has led the workshop.

Students were invited to the workshop by their school's counselor. In addition, college and career advisors from each high school attended the event, learning approaches and helping students navigate the free ACT preparation materials available to them.

The workshop was designed for students who are under-resourced or under-represented, and is hosted by the SPS Office of Student Access and Opportunity.
