On April 2, 2019, Springfield Public Schools' voters approved an 18-cent increase to the debt-service levy to fund 39 high-priority projects. The projects include a new facility for Delaware Elementary and renovation and expansion of Sunshine Elementary. The voter approved plan requires the following boundary changes to the current Portland, Sunshine, Delaware, Holland and Westport elementary schools attendance areas to maintain optimal capacity levels:
Current Portland attendance area will become part of the Sunshine attendance area.
A portion of the current Sunshine attendance area will become part of the Delaware attendance area.
A portion of the current Holland attendance area will become part of the Delaware attendance area.
A portion of Westport Elementary's attendance area will become part of the Sunshine attendance area. No current students will be impacted by this change.
