Secondary Visual Arts
The visual arts program provides instruction that incorporates art production, aesthetics, criticism and history, which nurtures the understanding of other cultures and prepares students to contribute to the world meaningfully and creatively.
Visual arts instruction is offered to middle school students as an elective choice or requirement depending on individual school requirements determined by the site-based management process.
Art is offered to high school students as an elective course and fulfills the state and local graduation requirement of one unit in the fine arts. The high school curriculum offers twenty-two courses of studies in art foundations, applied arts, ceramics, sculpture, drawing, graphic design, metals/jewelry, painting, photography and portfolio development.
