Curriculum by Content Area

The purpose of the SPS Curriculum team is to ensure each student has the opportunity to learn the same essential content at each instructional level regardless of site or classroom, and to ensure there is enough time for all students to master what is essential. This is referred to as a guaranteed and viable curriculum and is a priority for equitable learning experiences for all students.

The intended curriculum includes learning standards, teacher guides, instructional frameworks and strategies, matrices, resources and materials, and assessments for and of student learning. While ensuring curricular objectives are aligned with state or national standards, the overarching goal is to design and implement a curriculum which is academically rich, vertically and horizontally aligned, and student centered and culturally diverse.

We are committed to the development of an exemplary system-wide curriculum that promotes high expectations for all teachers and students and results in meaningful student learning to prepare each student for a successful future.
