Curriculum and Instruction

The Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment serves student learning throughout the learning cycle, from initial development and purchasing to systematic evaluation. Our team is steadfast in pursuit of one primary aim: increased student achievement. Guided by Missouri learning standards, our department designs comprehensive curriculum resources, models research-based instructional practices, and administers the assessments necessary to track student attainment of learning goals.

The department’s goals are to:

• Provide a guaranteed, accessible, and viable intended curriculum,
• Develop a system of support for high-quality curriculum implementation, and
• Analyze assessment data to measure the implementation and effectiveness of the guaranteed and viable curriculum.

We are committed to delivering on our district’s vision: SPS will be the district of choice that equips each student to pursue their goals and highest potential as an engaged contributor of society.
