    GHS freshmen:  This course will be part of your Freshman Academy experience in the fall and should not be part of your summer schedule.

    The purpose of this course is to help students gain the necessary knowledge to make sound health decisions regarding their personal health and wellness. Instruction may include units covering mental health, heart disease, CPR, cancer and carcinogenic agents, reproduction and sexually transmitted diseases, substance abuse, personal health care, and chronic and infectious diseases. This course meets the one-half unit health requirement for graduation.

    Session 1, seated, 8 -11 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

    Session 2, seated,  8 - 11:10 a.m. or 11:40 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.

    Session 1 & 2, online

  • Physical Education l

    Grades 9-12

    GHS freshmen:  This course will be part of your Freshman Academy experience in the fall and should not be part of your summer schedule.

    Students in this course will deal primarily with the concepts and improvement of physical fitness. It is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and desire to pursue physical fitness throughout life. The course will include a variety of lab experiences, lectures, written tests and fitness tests. Of particular importance are the health related aspects of fitness – cardiovascular endurance, strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body fat composition.


    Session 1, seated, 8 - 11 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

    Session 2, seated, 8 - 11:10 a.m. or 11:40 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.

    Session 1 & 2, online

  • Physical Fitness

    Grades 10-12

    1/2 unit of credit 

    Students in this course will gain an understanding and appreciation of the lifetime need for physical fitness. Students will participate in group and individual activities to develop all aspects of health related fitness and the proper components of weight training principles. This course may be repeated for credit. Prerequisite Physical Education I

    Session 1 and 2, online only
