• Explore (SPS's Summer Learning Program)

      Join the Explore Team! We employ approximately 1,000 individuals to run Explore every summer. Please check the job postings to apply to be a part of the team. If you do not see a position, but would like to work part time or full time during the month of June or July, contact Penmac as they will be assisting in filling vacancies (secretaries, paraprofessionals, teachers and more!). 




Coding Absences During Explore

  • 2019 Absences - Logging

    Explore Summer School teachers are expected to code ALL absences for the days they are scheduled to work during Explore even if a substitute is not required.  Absences will be logged using Frontline (Penmac Education Staffing) at http://www.aesoponline.com.  For last minute absences call Penmac at 417-986-7400.  Remember to select the EXPL SMR ABS (399 173) for your reason code.

    Use of Accrued Sick Leave during Explore: All District employees serving in bargaining unit positions, as defined in the collective bargaining agreement, will be afforded one previously accrued sick day per Explore session. If a District employee does not use a sick day for session one, they will be afforded two (2) sick days for the second session. Those District employees working less than full time but a minimum of 2 weeks during a session will be allowed to use ½ of a previously accrued sick day per session. If used, the personal illness time will be reflected at the end of the session.  For additional assistance please contact the Benefits Department at 523‐GOHR or 523‐4647.
